Providing services for their communities can be quite challenging
for municipal governments. Local infrastructure needs may seem
limitless, but budgets and resources certainly are not. If you are a
mayor or council member, you understand that saving time and
money on any portion of a project may mean the difference
between that project's successful completion and possible
derailment and costly delays.
Ryan Geotechnical Solutions can provide time-saving, cost-cutting
solutions for any project requiring a sub-base, backfill, foundation
stabilization, or annular fill. This can include road improvements,
bridge remediation, void fills for structures, filling abandoned pipes,
and a number of other projects. Quick, easy delivery and application,
as well as the self-leveling nature of our engineered fill, means your
project will stay on time and on budget.
CIVIL ENGINEERS
Civil engineers keep America running. They tackle the country's
most challenging projects, including roads, buildings, airports,
tunnels, dams, bridges and water systems.
In today's world, balancing sustainability with profits is a major
consideration for civil engineering projects. Cellular concrete
engineered fill checks all the boxes: it is made with ash byproducts,
making it a more sustainable solution; and it is readily available,
quick and easy to deliver, and allows for quick return to traffic flow
or other construction, providing a project cost savings.
Civil engineers must also be mindful of liability when designing
geotechnical projects. Engineered fill is better for on-site job
safety. For example, workers can fill a trench without entering the
trench, reducing their exposure to possible cave-ins. The material is
self-settling and does not need compacting, so it is a more stable,
safer choice than other bases.
DOT SUPERVISORS
Managing the building and repair of highways and bridges, DOT
Supervisors provide essential services to support our economic
development and quality of life. In these types of projects, cellular
concrete engineered fill is an approved alternative to compacted
soil for bedding, encasements, and backfill for abutments and
trenches.
The engineered fill is able to fill all voids in hard to reach places and
non-standard excavations. Trenches do not have to be widened to
accommodate compaction equipment or workers because the
flowable fill is self-leveling. It hardens in a matter of hours without
the need for compaction layers or associated inspections. The
product has load-carrying capacities that are typically higher than
compacted soil or granular fill, and can be placed without rollers,
loaders or tampers. Engineered fill has a compressive strength
below 150 psi, and is excavatable with conventional equipment, yet
is strong enough for most backfilling needs.
PROJECT OWNERS
Cost and application time for materials are a big consideration
when planning any construction project. Project Owners have the
unenviable job of managing the needs, timelines and budgets of
the architects, engineers, contractors, builders, suppliers and all
other parties involved in the project. They must be knowledgeable
about all aspects of the project in order to have the best result.
Using cellular concrete engineered fill for foundations, soil
stabilization, annular fills, void fills and backfills will help the project
to stay on time and on budget. Flowable fill is a cost-saving and
time-saving alternative to compacted soil or granular fills. It is
readily available, easy to deliver, and can be mixed to meet specific
requirements. Engineered fill is self-leveling and doesn't need
spreading or compacting, which shortens construction time and
reduces labor costs. It doesn't require on-site storage, and there is
no leftover fill to deal with. Finally, it allows for construction in all
weather, and will displace standing water so there's no need for
pumping beforehand.
